CyOptics Inc. has introduced its transmitter optical subassemblies for 4.25-Gb/s Fibre Channel transceiver applications up to 80 km. The 1606/7 series coarse WDM devices integrate a high-speed laser, a monitor photodiode and a microthermoelectric cooler in a small-form-factor metallized ceramic package. They are suitable for use in 20-nm channel-spaced coarse WDM applications from 1470 to 1610 nm, are temperature-stabilized and can be operated in partially cooled mode. Maximum power consumption is <0.2 W, and typical optical output power is 2 dBm. Operating temperature range is –5 to 75 °C.
