MVTec Software GmbH has launched the Halcon 7.1 LuCam frame grabber interface for Lumenera Corp.’s USB 2.0 cameras. The Halcon software library for machine vision provides such functions as blob analysis, morphology, pattern matching, metrology and 3-D calibration, and the Lumenera cameras provide a variety of speeds and resolution from VGA to 11 megapixels. When combined with the software, the cameras have broader applications, including such areas as defect analysis, bar-code reading and optical character recognition. The interface requires a compatible PC with Windows 2000/XP and a USB 2.0 interface.
