A camera adapter that integrates into new or existing systems has been introduced by Scanlab AG. Mechanically compatible interfaces facilitate quick mounting between the scan head and the laser flange. Incoming light reflected from the workpiece is decoupled via a beamsplitter and imaged by the user’s camera chip. The integrated objective is equipped with a focus ring for optimizing image sharpness. An iris diaphragm simplifies adjustments for brightness and depth of field. Mounting provisions are available for attachment of a color filter. Image field size depends on the focal lengths of the scan and camera objectives and on the camera’s chip size. Resolution is ∼10 μm for a 120 × 120-mm working field.
