EVAPORATION SOURCE
A temperature-controlled evaporation source for depositing the sensitive materials used in the research and production of organic LEDs and solar cells has been launched by
BOC Edwards to give electronics manufacturers and industrial researchers accurate control of the temperature profile and greater control of deposition rates. Available with either 2- or 4-cc charge capacity, it comprises a heating element, a temperature sensor and an interchangeable crucible. Operation is via either a single- or a four-channel controller that uses temperature ramps and self-tuning control loops to enable users to define the source temperature profile. The sources operate between 50 and 600 °C with accuracy of ±0.1 °C.
