ChemImage Corp. of Pittsburgh and Headwall Photonics Inc. of Fitchburg, Mass., have entered into a collaboration to develop more economical spectroscopic imaging products for high-throughput pharmaceutical, forensic and materials characterization applications. Among these will be a system for identifying drug polymorphs through a technique that combines Raman spectroscopy with microscopy and digital imaging. The partners also intend to create devices for field and laboratory identification of chemical, biological and explosive agents.
