IMC_PhotoSonics_SIM375-300.jpgThe SIM multiple-frame imaging system from Specialised Imaging Ltd. offers 4, 6, 8 or 16 separate optical channels and 1360 × 1040 12-bit images. Featuring ultrahigh-resolution intensified CCD sensors, it delivers up to 2 billion fps, exposures from 20 ms down to 50 ps and interframe times from 0 to 20 ms. Images are free from lag or ghosting. Overcoming parallax, the optical beamsplitter maintains dynamic system resolution >50 lp/mm. The optional optical port enables an external Optronis streak camera or high-speed video camera to perform simultaneous recording. Full Ethernet control and analysis software is included with the Windows-based package. The device has applications in automotive testing, failure dynamics, nanotechnology and micromachines, and medical research and testing.
