Cognex Corp. has unveiled the DVT 535C, an entry-level color vision sensor suitable for machine-based matching, sorting and defect detection. The RoHS-compliant device includes a 640 × 480-pixel array on a 1/3-in. CCD chip and an RS-232 connector (Ethernet connector available). With the included Intellect 1.4 software, the sensor supports tasks such as preprocessing, positioning, counting, measuring and optical character recognition. It operates on 24 VDC at 300 mA maximum current. Available accessories include light sources, input/output modules, lenses and the SmartLink communications module.
