Hinds Instruments Inc. is offering upgraded versions of Abrio IM macro and micro instruments manufactured by Cambridge Research & Instrumentation Inc. The quantitative birefringence imaging platforms are suitable for industrial metrology applications. The systems feature second-generation Abrio digital camera and electronics, producing a resolution of 1392 × 1024 pixels. Users can work with a subregion of the image or sample by digital zooming, without having to change lenses. The standard system has a 30 × 40-mm measurement area with digital zoom. The Windows-compatible software offers increased intuitive operation and greater ease of data analysis and transfer.
