A supplier of wafer-scale micro-optics, Heptagon Oy of Espoo, Finland, has opened a 20,000-sq-ft manufacturing plant and regional headquarters in Singapore. The facility is part of the wholly owned subsidiary Heptagon Micro Optics (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Heptagon’s glass-based optics are lead-free reflow and Telcordia-compatible, suitable for high-volume applications that previously have used the less robust injection-molded plastic.
