The JenLas Asama 100-W pulsed green thin-disk laser has been announced by Innovavent GmbH for annealing and crystallization of thin layers in liquid crystal displays and in organic LED flat panel displays and for activation of implants in power transistors to a depth of 1 μm. The Q-switched diode-pumped laser’s Yb:YAG thin-disk technology is suitable for homogenization and Gaussian beam focusing with a large depth of focus. It emits at 515 nm and has a variable pulse length from 250 to 600 ns FWHM, a pulse repetition rate of up to 50 kHz and pulse energy of 2 or 8 mJ, depending upon the model. Beam diameter is 2.2 ±0.5 mm, and pulse-to-pulse power is <1%.
