FIBER LASER

Menlo Systems GmbH has unveiled M-Comb, a turnkey femtosecond fiber laser that operates at 1560 ±20 nm with a repetition rate of 250 MHz. The instrument is coarsely tunable by 2.5 MHz and can be fine-tuned and locked by a piezo actuator. The carrier envelope offset frequency can be coarsely set with an intracavity wedge within the free spectral range of 250 MHz and can be fine-tuned and stabilized by modulating the pump power. Average optical output power is >80 mW, high enough to seed up to three amplifiers. The spectral bandwidth supports sub-150-fs pulse duration. The system has three optical output ports.
