TAMPERPROOF IMAGES

Kappa opto-electronics GmbH has introduced the DX 4/40 S, a 12-bit digital camera series with an internal signature function that ensures image authenticity by rendering images tamperproof. The signature is created inside the camera, based on an RSA 1024-bit signature with an SHA 512-bit hash function. Additional information, including date, time, measuring values and serial numbers, also may be electronically signed to the image via the serial interface. As with standard industrial cameras, the device features megapixel resolution, real-time signal processing and 12 to 30 full-image fps. GigE or Camera Link interfaces can be used. The devices may be used in courts of law for criminal prosecution and in claims for compensation, in traffic engineering, in forensic applications, and in industrial laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry.
