Exalos AG has introduced a line of 840-nm SLEDs that typically exhibit 7-mW optical power in a single-mode fiber and 50-nm, 3-dB spectral bandwidth. The standard light sources are delivered in a14-pin butterfly housing with a monitor diode and a fixed connection/angled physical contact connector, and they conform to the Bellcore GR-468-CORE standard. The devices can be integrated into OCT systems for medical applications and into fiber optic sensors for telecommunications and data transfer, for civil-structure monitoring and for aerospace and navigation.
