BEAM STABILIZATION
MRC Systems GmbH has announced its Dynamic-2 laser beam stabilization system. It can be equipped with faster piezo-driven X-Y actuators and achieves bandwidths of >1 kHz. It compensates for shock, vibration and other sources of laser misalignment with fast rise times. The tilting range of the actuators has been increased by a factor of two to ±4 mrad. The system automatically adjusts the laser beam to a defined direction, leveling out fluctuations or drift and stabilizing the beam position in real time. It combines one or two four-quadrant diodes and one or two piezo-driven steering mirrors with an analog closed-loop controller.
