SWIR SENSOR
NoblePeak Vision Corp. has developed a single-chip CMOS short-wave-infrared (SWIR) sensor that provides high resolution, zero blooming and high sensitivity from 400 to 1650 nm. The TriWave imager uses germanium and the atmospheric “night glow” that comes from bands of radiation 90 km high in the Earth’s atmosphere to provide clear visual images in zero light. The camera op-erates from a 24-VDC supply over a temperature range from –10 to 40° C. The sensor has a 128 × 128-pixel array with 10-μm pixel pitch and offers quantum efficiency of >50% from 500 to 1500 nm. Signal-to-noise ratio is 47 dB. The camera operates in progressive- or interlaced-scan mode, with a digital output rate of 30 fps.
