Laser Institute of America has introduced an auditing service to help industrial laser users keep their facilities safe and compliant with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The audit includes a review of training requirements, a hazard analysis, an evaluation of the laser use area, a review of the laser area controls, an assessment of nonbeam hazards, a review of the laser and laser system requirements, a review of procedure and policy documentation, and a detailed report. Based on the ANSI Z136.1 Safe Use of Lasers standard, the audit may be ordered through the organization’s Web site.
