Diagnostic Instruments Inc. has launched the Spot Idea digital camera for materials science, metrology and industrial applications. With a CMOS sensor and USB 2.0 plug-and-play interface, the camera features 1.3-, 3- or 5-megapixel images and the proprietary Correct Color Technology. It delivers up to 16 frames per second at full resolution and up to 78 frames per second in video graphics array resolution. The software provides live-image focusing, a focus meter, automatic white balancing, calibration, measurements, annotations, time-lapse imaging and an automatic report generator.
