Prosilica Inc. has released the GC2450 Gigabit Ethernet camera for high-speed motion events. With a compact 33 × 46 × 43-mm profile, the device runs at 15 fps with 2456 × 2048-pixel resolution. No frame grabber is required because the device connects directly to the host computer’s Gigabit Ethernet port. It uses Sony’s 5-megapixel ICX-625 progressive-scan CCD camera and a global electronic shutter, and it features programmable exposure controls, 12-bit and area-of-interest readout, and advanced binning modes.
