Applied Image Inc. has released the QA-77 digital camera resolution chart, an enhancement of its QA-72 version. Based on the ISO 12233 standard “Photography — Electronic Still Picture Cameras — Resolution Measurements,” the target has a resolution range from 100 to 4000 linewidths per picture height on the central hyperbolic wedges, and up to 2000 on the corner wedges, providing twice the resolution performance specified in the standard. Available on reflective material in three sizes, it offers star targets (Siemens sector target), short line-pair series (square wave sweep) and slanted short line-pair series, a 5° slant bar and a 5° dark gray square for spatial frequency response (modular transfer function) measurement. Analytical software for use with the target is offered.
