Three new microdisplays, the LightView VGA, WVGA and SVGA, have been developed by Displaytech Inc. The models offer 640 × 480, 852 × 480 and 800 × 600 resolution, respectively, with an active area diagonal of 9.2, 11.25 and 11.5 mm, respectively. All three operate at a low power of ∼100 mW, have a 60-Hz frame rate and feature adjustable brightness and gamma settings. The displays use the company’s ferroelectric liquid-crystal-on-silicon technology.
