Toshiba Teli America Inc. has announced its FireDragon progressive-scan cameras with a FireWire-B interface for machine vision applications. They deliver transfer rates of 800 Mb/s and are available in monochrome and color versions. Models deliver full-frame images at up to 90 fps with resolutions ranging from VGA (640 × 480) to UXGA (1600 × 1200). Monochrome output can be set for 8 or 10 bits, and color at RGB 24 bits, YUV 4:2:2 or YUV 4:1:1. CCD sizes are 1/3, 1/2, 1/1.8 or 2/3 in. Features include full-frame shutter, tetragonal lattice layout of CCD pixels, and a built-in color process that provides raw output. All eight models are RoHS-compliant.
