Matrix Vision GmbH has expanded its mvDeltae line of frame grabbers with a device dedicated for PCI Express. The image processing board features an automatic gain controller that eliminates unwanted fluctuations in brightness. It can handle composite and Y/C color video signals, and it has a PCI master DMA interface for real-time data transfer to the PC’s main memory or to a graphics card. Images are digitized in full PAL resolution of 768 × 576 pixels, and the device has four software-switchable video inputs. Contrast, brightness and color saturation parameters can be digitally selected. An interpolating scaler allows digitized images to be scaled horizontally or vertically, pixel by pixel. The device comes with the mvImpact base software library as well as drivers for Windows and Linux.
