The Lm series cameras from Lumenera Corp. provide CCD-level imaging for applications with severe space constraints. Measuring only 44 × 44 × 56 mm, the devices use a single USB 2.0 connection to provide data transfer, camera control and power supply. The Lm165 and Lm135 are 1.4-megapixel cameras with adjustable 8- or 12-bit conversion, which differ mainly in sensitivity. The Lm175 transmits image data in VGA quality. Binning and programmable region-of-interest capabilities allow flexible increases in the frame rate. All three models have bidirectional I/O ports that can be attached and remotely controlled. DirectShow- and DirectX-compatible drivers can be integrated in applications on Windows 98, SE, ME, 2000 and XP, and a software development kit is offered.
