Agilent Technologies Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., will purchase Adaptif Photonics GmbH of Hamburg, Germany. Acquisition of the German manufacturer of instruments for polarization control and analysis in laser, sensor and telecommunications applications is expected to increase the American concern’s offerings of fiber optic testing equipment for use in high-speed broadband network design. Employees of the acquired company will be employed by Agilent but will continue to work at their current facility.
