The iFlex-Viper multilaser engine for OEMs provides a single “black box” system for a variety of precision instruments and has applications in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, such as confocal microscopy and DNA sequencing. Available from Point Source, it uses a proprietary kineFlex 3-m fiber optic cable to provide stability, design flexibility,instrument protection and improved laser quality. It incorporates up to six laser wavelengths, covering the VIS range from 405 to 640 nm, and includes a mix-and-match choice of diode, gas and diode-pumped solid-state laser types with power up to 50 mW and low optical noise (0.25% rms). Each laser can be modulated to 1 MHz. The device is supplied in an enclosure measuring 250 × 240 × 70 mm. The fiber output can be specified from standard footprints with circular, elliptical or flattop beam options.
