A terahertz imaging system from Tera-View Ltd. performs 3-D imaging of intact pharmaceutical tablet cores and coatings to determine coating thickness, uniformity and distribution. The TPI imaga 2000 enables fast identification of cracks, dislocations and delaminations in single- and multilayer tablet cores. The patented technology creates spectroscopic signatures in <20 ms, maps the ingredients in coating and core formulations, and enhances production line quality control and assurance testing through nondestructive volumetric imaging.
