ION CHAMBERS
Advanced Design Consulting USA Inc. has launched the IC-300 family of ion chambers for low-noise x-ray measurements. The electrodes are made of nickel-plated copper on fiberglass supports, all housed within a nickel-plated aluminum frame. The system can be configured for air, vacuum or ultrahigh-vacuum operation. The air version stands alone, mounted to the system table. The vacuum version interfaces through an NW40-style bulkhead fitting, and the ultrahigh-vacuum version interfaces through a tapped DN63 CF flange. The chambers incorporate a split collector plate. The electrode is split in a sawtooth configuration ∼10 mm high so that, when the differential current is computed, it can be used as a beam position monitor.
