Impulse Optics Inc. has introduced a third-harmonic-generation (THG) unit for Ti:sapphire lasers that includes a second-harmonic-generation (SHG) unit. When pumped with a Ti:sapphire laser operating in the near-IR from 700 to 950 nm, the THG unit output wavelength will be in the UV from 240 to 310 nm, and the SHG unit output will be in the long-UV and visible blue from 350 to 475 nm. The THG and SHG units have 4% to 10% and >20% conversion efficiency, respectively. Pulse broadening below 100 fs is available.
