TE-COOLED CAMERAS

Imperx.jpgThe TEC family of cameras, released by Imperx Inc. for applications requiring low thermal noise, use a TE-cooled image sensor and achieve 4-, 11- and 16-megapixel resolution. They are available in a standard housing that measures 100 mm on a side and that encloses the sensor in a sealed chamber with a fill/purge valve, allowing the sensor area to be filled with dry nitrogen to prevent condensation. With natural convection, the cameras maintain the sensor from 5 to 10 °C below ambient, and they operate at temperatures between 0 and 50 °C. They are available in monochrome and color versions and offer 8-, 10- or 12-bit pixel data. Electronic shutter control provides pre- and double exposure and enables speeds from 1/12,000 to 10 s.
