Synrad Inc. has announced the FH Flyer series laser marking heads for stationary or moving parts via USB/Ethernet control. They mark at a speed of up to 450 characters per second in static or dynamic applications and can be paired with any of the company’s 10- to 125-W CO₂ lasers. A user-accessible, fully isolated 15-V source powers external input/output devices, and a port provides a connection for purge gas to lower the risk of contamination of internal optical surfaces. The head is suitable for marking bar codes, serial numbers and text on materials such as plastics, glass, steel and wood.
