The Acriche semiconductor lighting source for AC power outlets can achieve warm white or near-daylight quality, making it suitable for general and indoor lighting applications. Available from Seoul Semiconductor Co. Ltd., it is rated at 42 lm/W. The actual system efficiency of the source is 39.9 lm/W, which takes into account luminous efficacy, and ballast and luminaire efficiency, surpassing halogen (10 lm/W), incandescent (7.5 lm/W) and compact fluorescent (30.6 lm/W) lamps. The Acriche, at 42 lm/W, is 20% more efficient than a conventional warm white DC LED, which has a luminous efficacy of nearly 35 lm/W, according to the company. It requires no converter or ballast. The company also has released a warm white Acriche with a luminous efficacy of 33 lm/W and a color rendering index rating of 90.
