The MicroVista back-illuminated CMOS camera has applications in microscopy, machine vision, medical imaging and general low-light imaging between 200 and 1100 nm. Available from Intevac Scientific & Commercial Imaging, the device has back-thinned CMOS sensors, which offer 100% fill factor, high quantum efficiency, low read noise, low dark charge and flexible region-of-interest settings. It operates at a rate of 30 fps, full frame, and produces resolution of 1280 × 1024 in a 10.8-μm-pixel format. Supported by application software such as IVAPI, LabView, Matlab and ImagePro, the camera has a small form factor, low power consumption, a Camera Link data port and “camera on a chip” architecture.
