Optical technologies supplier Thorlabs Inc. of Newton, N.J., has acquired OFR Inc., a manufacturer of free-space and fiber-based optical isolators and circulators, objective lenses for laser machining and marking, and the Fiber Bench tools for prototyping complex optical systems. The Caldwell, N.J., company will continue operations at its 12,500-sq-ft facility. Its products are used in markets that are key to Thorlabs’ development as a company. Its ability to meet OEM customer delivery requirements will be enhanced by Thorlabs’ manufacturing capability.
