MVTec GmbH has launched an interface that enables operation of the Halcon software library for machine vision with the new Scout cameras from Basler. The Halcon 7.1 pylon frame grabber interface accommodates all GigE Vision-compliant Scout cameras and follows the GenICam standard for accessing all camera features in a generic way. Halcon is hardware- and platform-independent and compatible with Windows, Linux and Solaris. Applications for Halcon include blob analysis, morphology, pattern matching, metrology, 3-D calibration and stereovision.
