DIODE LASER MODULES
Jenoptik unique-mode GmbH has unveiled Jum20k/100/20_976, a fiber-coupled diode laser module with a power output of 20 W from one fiber, which has a core diameter of 100 μm. It achieves this high brightness by transforming the asymmetric radiation from the laser diode chip into a symmetrical beam, using patented micro-optics. The beam is coupled into the 100-μm, 0.20-NA fiber with high efficiency. Available in a compact hermetically sealed package, the CW laser provides direct modulation up to 500 kHz, has a center wavelength of 976 nm at 25 °C and a typical spectral bandwidth (FWHM) of 6 m. It has applications in pumping Er- and Nd-doped fiber lasers and solid-state lasers.
