A low-birefringence analyzer that is immune to noise and vibration has been unveiled by Fiberpro USA. It was made to provide accurate measurement, based on balanced detection, in harsh environments such as factories and mechanical laboratories. Its microradian-grade capabilities enable its use with most transparent materials, including glass and semiconductors. The modular analyzer operates at 80 Hz and is suitable for online measurement of glass plates, defect-induced localized birefringence, glass cutting, stress analysis of optical materials such as polymer films, metrology for quality control, and wafer and photolithography components analysis.
