The SVM340 manufactured by LabSmith Inc. is a synchronized video microscope for microfluidics and microbiology research. The compact benchtop inverted fluorescence/dark-field instrument captures, stores and replays still images and video. The device performs 75 × 50-mm scanning with three-axis motorized traverse. Its optics and illuminator travel below a motionless sample stage so that microsystems remain undisturbed. A pulsed LED illumination system minimizes blur and photobleaching. Standard composite and S-Video analog outputs and USB and RS-232 digital ports simplify electronic interfacing. Video triggering and analysis software enable high-resolution recording and playback, and acquisition can be triggered manually or in automatic response to changes in intensity or color.
