DIGITAL CAMERA

In the MegaPlus II EC16000 16-megapixel digital CCD camera, the electronics are isolated from the sensor cooling path, resulting in true 12 bits per pixel at nearly any operating temperature. Available from
Redlake, the industrial and scientific device uses Peltier cooling, which reduces dark noise and thermal drift. It is designed to cool the sensor to 5 °C below ambient temperature without a fan, which could cause unwanted vibration. An optional fan provides cooling to ∼12 °C below ambient temperature. The device operates at more than 3 fps with Camera Link and with Gig E, and up to 1 fps with FireWire (IEEE-1394a). It is available in color or monochrome.
