Alfalight Inc. has launched a 6-W fiber-coupled 976-nm multimode laser diode. The device’s increased output power and brightness are designed for pumping pulsed fiber lasers. It features a hermetic six-pin butterfly-style package that has a built-in thermistor for temperature monitoring and that is electrically isolated for ease in mounting. Applications include industrial materials processing and lidar.
