Leutron Vision GmbH has launched PicSight cameras and PicPort-PCI frame grabbers with Power over Camera Link (PoCL) compatibility. This allows a camera’s power supply to be provided directly through the Camera Link cable. No separate devices or cables are required. The company says the setup will allow for easier installation and more compact camera housings. The cameras and frame grabbers are compatible with the Generic Interface for Cameras standard and represent a step toward plug and play for Camera Link applications.
