The MPC-D303 series ultrasmall microchip thermoelectric coolers from Micropelt GmbH have a cold-side area of only 0.98 mm² and support a maximum temperature difference of >60 K. They provide cooling up to 100 W/cm², can realize temperature changes faster than 180 K/s and adjust in 10-K increments in milliseconds. Maximum operating temperature is 200 °C. The RoHS-compliant cooler is a thin film on a silicon wafer measuring between 1 and 25 mm².
