Integrating all pump laser diode models, a seed oscillator and the amplifier in a single housing, High Q Laser Production GmbH has introduced the femtoRegen UC, an all-in-one femtosecond regenerative amplifier. Based on ytterbium-doped laser materials, the device delivers 2 W of power at a 200-kHz repetition rate, with pulse duration of 350 fs. The seed oscillator with de-rated nominal pump current based on the company’s patented resonator folding technique withstands a 50-g shock test. Passive and self-starting mode locking and high temporal stability are assured with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror. With a footprint measuring 34 × 78 cm, the device is equipped with a proprietary intracavity chirped pulse amplification technology for a compact design. It is suitable for medical, industrial and scientific applications.
