The LTS-1500, an automated fiber optic loss test set, has been released by Terahertz Technologies Inc. The device characterizes single- and multimode fiber links at wavelengths of 850, 1300, 1310, 1490 and 1550 nm. It is composed of a sensitive InGaAs-based optical power meter calibrated at six wavelengths with better than –75 dBm noise level. It also performs fiber identification functions with modulation frequencies of 270, 1000 and 2000 Hz. It has a USB port and comes with PC application software.
