GE Fanuc Embedded Systems has launched the Adept5000, an image-processing subsystem that enables situational awareness in fixed security installations and in military in-vehicle deployment. Designed to interface with any video sensor, including thermal imagers, it decreases the likelihood of information overload by merging all of the sensors’ video signals into a real-time interactive panoramic image on one monitor. User-selectable options include scene change and contrast or moving-target detection. The system brings changes in events to the operator’s attention with graphic symbols, an audible alarm or recorded picture-in-picture images of the contact. Operators can scroll through or zoom into the panoramic image via touch screens, joysticks or game controllers.
