Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has launched a series of accessories to complement its Evolution 300 and 600 UV-VIS spectrophotometers. Suitable for materials science laboratories, the accessories provide capabilities for measuring the specular reflectance of solid materials with mirrorlike or glossy surfaces. The VN absolute specular reflectance accessory provides absolute, single-bounce measurements at a 10° angle of incidence. The fixed-angle accessories are suitable for military, solar and research applications at 15°, 20°, 30°, 45° and 60° angles of incidence and can be used with the Glan-Taylor or Glan-Thompson polarizers and depolarizers. The grazing angle of 85° also is supported. The variable angle accessory covers angles from 30° to 80°.
