LOW-POWER DETECTOR
Gentec-EO Inc. has introduced a thermopile-based extreme-low-power detector. The XLP12 takes low power measurements in the micro- and milliwatt regions with low thermal drift. It features a broadband flat response, low spatial dependence and a noise-equivalent power as low as 1 μW, making it suitable for pulsed and CW low-power lasers. It operates over the 0.19- to 11-μm range, with nominal rise time of 2.5 s, repeatability of 60.5% and sensitivity of 200 mV/W. Maximum average power density is 1 kW/cm2.
