The XGT-7000 is an energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence microscope with 10-μm spatial resolution. Manufactured by
Horiba Jobin Yvon SAS, it features two vacuum modes. The full vacuum mode provides high sensitivity for light elements such as sodium, magnesium and aluminum. For water-containing samples such as biological cells and archaeological objects, the localized vacuum mode enables analysis of the full elemental range, from sodium to uranium, with the sample chamber maintained at normal atmospheric pressure. The SmartMap software provides data control, including postacquisition image analysis.
