Victor, N.Y.-based New Scale Technologies Inc. has added in Europe three new distributors for its patented piezoelectric Squiggle motors. Joining the company’s pan-European representative — Cedrat Technologies of Meylan, France — are SI Scientific Instruments GmbH of Munich, Germany, Orlin Technologies Ltd. of Ridgmont, UK, and Optoprim Srl of Monza, Italy. The motors operate with no gears and few parts and are used for tiny “focus and zoom” optics in camera phones and in other imagers, among additional applications.
