Prosilica Inc., the GE4900 is a 16-megapixel CCD camera that operates at 3 fps with 4872 × 3248-pixel resolution over a GigE Vision-compliant Gigabit Ethernet interface. It uses a 35-mm Kodak progressive-scan CCD sensor with electronic global shutter to capture high-speed motion events, with exposure times programmable from 1/100,000 to 60 s. Features include asynchronous external trigger and sync, automatic exposure and white balance, region-of-interest readout, an F-mount lens mount and binning modes to 8 × 8. Available in monochrome and color models, the camera provides uncompressed digital output in Mono8, Mono16, Bayer8 or Bayer16 image formats. The 12-bit analog-to-digital converter provides high-quality images. Applications include inspection of LCD panels and semiconductor wafers, and aerial photography, 3-D metrology, machine vision, surveillance and traffic imaging.
