A miniature day/night telephoto lens with megapixel resolution for CMOS and CCD cameras has been released by Sunex Inc. The DSL208 has a lens-limited field of view of 22° on a 1/3-in. sensor and 17° on a 1/4-in. one. Features include a 15.8-mm focal length, a focal ratio of f/2, distortion of <2% and relative illumination of >90%. Total track length is 21.3 mm, and the lens barrel thread is M12 × 0.5. The spectral range of the all-glass lens is corrected for 400 to 1000 nm. An IR coating option is available for color cameras. Applications include automotive, security and surveillance.
